• here comes the sun…

    * Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten
    * Fresh High Noon
    * Maybelline Mascara in Very Black
    * Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar
    * Fresh Sugar in Rose
    * Chanel Liquid Eyeliner in Noir

    I have spring fever (in addition to regular fever) and am so ready to see the sun. I only fake tan, but I am in desperate need of some color. Goodbye, corpse face. I am also ready to switch to my spring/summer makeup routine (pictured above). I am a product junkie and love to try everything out there, but these are my favorites. I love the ease of only applying a tinted moisturizer (Fresh High Noon) and the sun kissed look from the Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick. It is super fast, too. You just apply the Kitten to the entire eyelid, line the upper eye, and add two coats of mascara to top lashes only. How easy is that? Combine this with the dry shampoo trick, and I might actually make it to work on time.

  • somebody bring me some soup

    Earlier in the week, I felt like I was getting the crud. I went into work Thursday morning but decided to make an appointment with my doc that afternoon. I was 99% sure I had a sinus infection. They swabbed me for the flu and it came back positive. He was surprised I didn’t feel terrible. What the what? I had a flu shot. He wrote all sorts of prescriptions and sent me on my way. I didn’t believe him so I went to a different doctor for a second opinion.

    I am hard headed like that. When I was 34 weeks pregnant with Wells, they admitted me to the hospital (no, not psychiatric) for observation. A doctor that I’d never seen before came in at 4 a.m. and said they were taking me back for an emergency C section. When he left the room, I told SK that I had to have a second opinion. The look I gave him must have been straight crazy, because he ran down the hall after the doc with my request. Needless to say, second opinions are hard to come by on Sunday mornings at 4 a.m.

    Back to the original story. So I went to doctor #2 and he confirmed that it is indeed flu and just for kicksies threw in a side of bronchitis. Pass the narcotic cough syrup. Lovely. Now my entire family is on Tamiflu and I have been sentenced to maximum security isolation. A little late, I know. My sincerest apologies to my co-workers at the EGP. I hope I did not infect any of you. And to you, flu shot, you can suck it.

  • winner winner chicken dinner

    I won two quarters in my office Super Bowl pool. It somewhat made up for the awful commercials. Other than the finger sucking, they were pretty much lame. I woke up thinking about what I should do with my windfall. I have decided to invest in some chickens. I’ve always wanted a backyard coop, so it is now or never. And not just any chickens. The pretty, furry ones.

    Aren’t they the cutest things you have ever seen? I will need a chicken coop for my little darlings. How about this one…

    Or this one (minus the tiny, creepy horse)…

    Oops. I think that might send me over budget. Plus, I’m not sure if Mayor Mary allows chickens inside the city limits. I guess I will take a small step in the right direction and just buy the flower pin from the top photo. I don’t want my someday chickens to be embarrassed by my lack of accessories, and that tiny horse is already judging me.

    (Seriously, I really do want chickens someday)
