spring break

The last spring break trip I took was during college to Panama City, Florida. Let’s just say a lot has changed since then. I mean, hello? I am so much cuter now. A couple of weeks ago during Wells’ spring break from school, we decided to visit SK’s grandmother in North Carolina. I was a little nervous since the last time we attempted this, Graham ended up in the hospital. Nervous or not, I am not one to turn down a road trip. We spent a couple of nights in Atlanta…

Then we packed up and headed to North Carolina…

We stayed in the area where Dirty Dancing and The Hunger Games were filmed. Our second night at The Esmerelda, we had the entire place to ourselves. I read the area was rumored to be haunted and was 99% sure we were going to be murdered during the night. Fun!

We really enjoyed visiting with Mawmaw K… she is such a remarkable person. Lucky for me, she shared some of her recipe secrets. As always, the trip went by too fast. I hate goodbyes.

Other than asking 500,000 times when we would “be there” (hello, earplugs), the boys were really good. We had a great time. I hope we are fortunate enough to make the trip again soon.

  1. oh my goodness! you went to Scott’s Antique Market. I have been dying to go since my architect told me about it. Was it as awsome as the website makes it look?

    1. It was enormous. There are two huge buildings and we only made it through one. You should go… you would love it.
