trick

I am about to do some magic. You are getting very sleeeeeepy. When I count to three, you will wake up and it will be {early} November. One, two, three…

I hope you guys had an awesome Halloween. We did… I am still in a candy coma. Our new Chicago neighbors had a costume party the Saturday night before trick or treat day. I had not been to a costume party since high school and didn’t have anything to wear. I looked online and at Target, but all the costumes were super slutty. I decided to make something up using a wig I borrowed from my office (don’t ask). I tried to pull off Princess Kate, but had to settle with Amy Winehouse. Unfortunately, my husband borrowed a pimp costume from our neighbors, so I just ended up looking like a hooker anyway.

Since we are on the subject of Hos, Wells’ school had their annual Hoe Down on Halloween morning…

After the (THREE HOUR!) hoe down, we went home to get ready for my favorite holiday. Well, favorite holiday other than my birthday and Christmas. I forced Wells to help me make candy bags. We live in a fairly large neighborhood, and have tons of trick or treaters. That means tons of dumb candy bags. You may be asking why I make candy bags instead of just dumping the candy into a big plastic container and leaving it on the porch. I make candy bags because my mama made candy bags. When my children get older, I will expect them to make candy bags and so on. Hopefully, the simplicity of the holiday will be ruined for several generations.

Speaking of my mama, that sweet thing came up to celebrate with us and hand out said candy bags. We also took some of them to my office for a little pre-trick or treating…

Wells and G decided to be Batman and Robin. Graham would not wear the mask (gasp), and the costume was also about 4 inches too short. G didn’t care. He just wanted candy. Boy, those two have mastered the Halloween hustle… I’ve never seen so much loot. They got a star for every Almond Joy they turned over to their mama…

Enough about that. I’d better be going because I have lots of early November stuff to do.

Three, two, one…
