Merry Merry…

Merry Christmas, y’all! I finally (FINALLY) got the Christmas cards in the mail. When the first batch came in, the boys were spray tan orange. Niiiice. I like a little color, but they looked straight up Jersey Shore. I called Tiny Prints and explained that my children don’t tan, so there must have been some mistake. They were nice enough to reprint them…

Am I the only one who wants to keep the Christmas decorations up longer? Even though we got most of it done by the end of November, it seems like yesterday. That’s it. I’m keeping it all up until Valentine’s.

We had some friends over for pizza and popcorn. If you need some kid entertainment, break out a popcorn popper. They are amazed.

Kailey, Lily, Yaya and Nan came for the annual cookie making and Christmas light looking…

In case you need a yummy, last minute recipe, this one is delicious…

Mississippi Sin

1 lb. of sausage browned (I like Jimmy Dean regular)
1 8 oz. block of cream cheese (at room temp)
3 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese (sometimes I use 4)
1 16 oz. tub of light sour cream (You might not need all of it… depends on how much cheese you use)
1 4 oz. can of chop green chilis
1 bunch of green onions (chopped)

Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Hollow out a loaf of French bread and add the mixture. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for an hour. Serve with Fritos Scoops.

This has been one busy month. I’m sure it has been for you too. All the hustle and bustle is fun, but it is also very tiring. The worst part is, we get so wrapped up in gifts (that’s punny), decorating, parties and food that it is easy to overlook the real meaning of Christmas. It is also easy to get stressed out and stabby. Wells’ Christmas play was entitled, “Happy Birthday, Jesus.” The five year olds get it…

I am going to try extra hard to be mindful of the real reason for this special season and less stressed about the things that don’t really matter (like orange kids on cards). I hope you and your family have a very, merry Christmas
